About us
At tulanā, your expertise in software, modelling and algorithms will enable rare disease patients to receive life-saving medications in time and make sure that airline passengers get home to their families. It will turn into platforms that shape high-stakes strategic decisions where precision determines outcomes for years.
Our decision engines combine stochastic optimization, simulation, and machine learning. We build the platforms that keep critical operations running when failure isn't an option. We work closely with our clients yet at heart we are engineers and problem-solvers, not consultants. Our seasoned team (ex-BCG, ex-Spotify) have walked away from predictable careers to solve complex and high-stakes problems.
Your mission
As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you'll own the technical execution at client sites. When our platform meets complex real-world problems, you will find the solutions, implement prototypes, and contribute to production systems.
What you'll actually do:
- Discover critical decision points in client workflows where our platform can deliver transformational value.
- Translate complex business requirements into technical specifications and solutions.
- Lead stakeholder meetings with key decision-makers and engineering teams.
- Design and execute proof-of-concepts that demonstrate measurable business impact.
- Build bespoke integrations and data pipelines that connect our platform to client systems.
- Bridge the gap between our core engineering team and client technical teams.
About you:
- You don't shy away from operational complexity and ambiguity, and you have a knack for formalizing complex real-world problems and systems into mathematical models and code.
- We care about your skills, not your credentials, but you are likely to hold an advanced degree with excellent grades in a quantitative field (e.g. Math, Physics, Computer Science, Economics).
- You appreciate the difference between a POC and a production system. You're a strong pragmatic coder. You bring an interest in languages other than Python, or a desire to learn.
